About The Project

DESIGN MEETING

As a New Englander I had a lot of fun with this project, bringing to life the look and feel of a classic north atlantic yacht club. The club was very forthcoming and excited about going in a bold new direction with the design. Throughout our conversation about their history, membership, and aesthetic sense, I was able to form a good idea of how to represent the club online.

BRANDING & STRATEGY

The branding strategy for the new website was to combine the sharp and understated nautical style associated with the yacht fashion (think Tommy Hilfiger) with the charming and rustic aesthetic of the north shore.

FINAL DESIGN

After some collaboration, we arrived at the final design. The club felt the addition of nautical watermarks and prominent images of the community told a story in itself, conveying the spirit and tradition of their community. Once the design was approved, I was able to stay on the project to develop the live site as well, ensuring the animations and details would be executed just as we had discussed throughout the design phase. Shortly after the site launched, the club requested the custom graphic created for their preloader, as they wanted to use it for ornaments at their annual holiday party!
